One of our favorites: Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam. I don't even know where to begin. They formed in Seattle back in 1990, making them one of the original (and longest lasting) bands of the Seattle grunge scene. Their debut album, Ten, was released in 1991. It really captured the collective emotions and experiences of many people at the time, and helped the grunge culture spread across the country. While commercial success didn't come right away for Ten, once it caught on it stayed on the charts for years.
With each album released, the members grew as artists and their sound continued to evolve. It's no doubt a big reason why they have stayed successful long after the end of grunge.
From almost the beginning, the members of Pearl Jam have been activists as well as musicians. They took on Ticketmaster in their early years, and supported many pro-choice causes. They eventually took a lot of heat in the early 2000's for Eddie Vedder's repeated criticisms of President George W. Bush. They remain politically conscious to this day; in 2016 they canceled a concert in Raleigh, NC after the state passed HB2 (the notorious "bathroom bill").
As you've no doubt guessed, we're big fans of Pearl Jam here at Sold Out Posters. Our Pearl Jam poster collection is quite extensive as a res
