Featured Chicago Artist: Justin Santora
So we recently acquired an awesome collection by Chicago artist, Justin Santora, and figured we'd let you know a little about him and his work. Justin began his career in 2008 as a freelance illustrator and screen printer. After earning a degree in studio art and secondary education, he decided becoming an artist was more appealing than becoming an art teacher.
Inspired by the Chicago rock poster art scene, he focused on creating handmade posters, screen printed art, paintings and illustrations. Santora’s work revolves around images of suburban settings, construction, decay, architecture, and large open spaces. His interests in anarcho-syndicalism, environmentalism, animal rights, skateboarding and punk rock serve as inspiration for his art.
